Why Work a 9-5 and Run a Business?
All my life I’ve been told that I need to find a career and stay at it until I’m old enough to retire, then live off of my retirement. That’s bulls***.
To this date (March 21, 2021), I’ve had 22 different jobs, and the longest that I’ve ever held one is 2 years and 1 day. I always find a way to get out of a job, either I get fired, or I get bored and quit.
I have learned that the 9-5 work life is not for me, and never will be. However, I currently work a 9-5 (well more like a 11pm-7:30am) job, and they probably hate me. I’m never on time, and I do whatever I want. In fact, I am writing this while I work, and I’m using the company computer that is supposed to be for business use only. Not to mention that I was 32 minutes late today.
So, why am I doing this?
My business is not where I’d like it to be….yet. I’m using the money I “earn” from work to fund my business. The 9-5 income basically pays for the overhead costs to run my business until the business earns enough to pay for itself.
